Miss Gratz
I interviewed thirty-five cows before I found the right one to use as my model. Not only was I looking for a distinctive body, but I also wanted her to have horns, which are commonly removed from cows in dairy herds. Named for her place of birth, the Gratz State Fair, Miss Gratz, the live model, was a pregnant twelve-year old cow. She gave birth five days after she finished posing.
